An architecture graduate from the University of the Philippines who topped the 2010 Philippine national architecture board examination proved that not all those who excel in academics can't be a beauty queen at the same time. Shamcey Supsup, 24, bested 39 other completely stunning Filipinas during the coronation night held at Araneta Coliseum, April 10, 2011 as she was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2011.
Shamcey graduated with a higher distinction of Magna cum Laude from one of the most prestigious universities in the Philippines. Despite being a first timer in beauty pageants, Shamcey won every Filipino's heart by her wit, grace, poise, beauty and attitude. She also won other corporate and major awards like Miss Cream Silk, Ambassadress for Philippine Airlines, and Miss Talent.
Dianne Necio from Bicol Region, Philippines was crowned Bnibining Pilipinas-International 2011 and Isabella Manjon, who also comes from Bicol Region was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism. 1st runner-up was Janine Tugunon of Quezon City, with Mary Jean Lastimosa, from Davao City as 2nd runner-up.
Shamcey Supsup will represent her country to the Miss Universe 2011 beauty pageant on September 2011 at Sao Paulo, Brazil. Will she surpass Venus Raj's achievement last year?
